Bearded Man is an original oil portrait by Chinese painter Yang Huaxi, depicting an adult man with a full beard in a quiet, closely observed moment.

Rather than presenting a formal or idealised portrait, the painting focuses on the sitter’s expression, posture and presence. Loose but controlled brushwork gives particular attention to the face, beard and hand, while the pale background keeps the composition direct and uncluttered.

The work reflects Yang Huaxi’s long-standing interest in painting people from observation — not simply recording appearance, but capturing the weight and character of a real person in a particular moment.
