A weathered green fishing boat rises almost vertically into a pale, open sky. Seen from the front, the hull becomes the dominant structure of the composition, with ropes falling loosely toward the ground.

The faded green surface, worn timber and quiet surroundings reveal years of use without turning the boat into a nostalgic symbol.

Yang Huaxi focuses instead on its physical presence—its weight, shape and the marks left by weather and work.

The large area of open sky gives the painting a sense of stillness and distance, while the boat remains firmly grounded in the foreground.
