Miao Gathering is an original group figurative oil painting by Yang Huaxi, depicting several Miao women gathered together in traditional clothing and silver adornment.
The painting shifts attention from individual portraiture to shared space and collective presence. Repeated shapes, silver headdresses, and muted reds create a layered composition that feels active without becoming theatrical.
As part of Yang Huaxi’s Miao Women series, this work explores community, rhythm, and cultural memory through figurative painting.
