Golden Age of the East is an original group figure oil painting by Yang Huaxi, depicting a line of Miao women in vivid traditional clothing and silver adornment.
The repeated figures create movement across the composition, while changes in gesture, direction, and colour keep each person distinct. Yang Huaxi treats the group as both a collective rhythm and a collection of individual presences.
The work belongs to the Miao Women series and offers a broader, more social view of the subject than the artist’s quieter single-figure portraits.
