Woman in Red is an original portrait painting by Yang Huaxi, depicting a Miao woman in red traditional clothing and silver adornment.
The warm red background and clothing create a stronger visual presence than many works in the series, while the figure herself remains calm and inward-looking. Yang Huaxi balances colour, texture, and expression without turning the portrait into a staged scene.
The painting belongs to the Miao Women series and offers a distinctive combination of portrait painting, cultural detail, and restrained figurative observation.
