Quiet Profile is an original figurative portrait oil painting by Yang Huaxi, depicting a young dancer in profile.
The composition is reduced to the essentials: the line of the face, neck and shoulder, the dark background and the warm light touching the figure. With very little surrounding detail, the sitter’s posture becomes the central visual language of the painting.
Rather than portraying performance or movement, Yang Huaxi captures a moment of stillness. The restrained colour and simplified composition give the work a quiet, contemplative presence.
