Seated Girl is an original figurative oil painting by Chinese artist Yang Huaxi, showing a young girl seated quietly on the ground.
Unlike a conventional portrait, the painting gives equal importance to the figure’s posture, clothing and surrounding space. Her relaxed pose and lowered attention create an everyday moment that feels observed rather than staged.
Yang Huaxi’s muted palette and soft handling of light give the work a calm, natural atmosphere. It is a characteristic example of his approach to contemporary figurative painting — focused on people as they are, without theatrical gestures.
