Seated Woman is an original oil painting by Yang Huaxi, portraying a woman seated against a dark, restrained background.
Her dark blouse and warm red skirt create the main colour contrast in the composition, while the relaxed placement of her hand gives the portrait a natural, unposed quality.
Yang Huaxi approaches the sitter quietly, avoiding exaggerated gesture or expression. The painting is built around posture, colour and the understated presence of the figure.
