Woman in the Field is an original figurative oil painting by Yang Huaxi, portraying a woman seated alone in an open landscape.
The composition places the figure low within a broad, muted field, allowing the surrounding earth and atmosphere to become an important part of the painting. Her relaxed seated posture feels observed rather than arranged.
Soft brown and grey tones keep the scene restrained, while the solitary figure gives the painting its quiet centre.
