xiangyin is an original woman portrait oil painting by Yang Huaxi, depicting a Miao woman in profile against a dark, atmospheric background.
The subdued palette creates a sense of distance and stillness, while the silver headdress remains the strongest visual structure in the composition. The figure does not perform for the viewer; she simply occupies the space with quiet presence.
This work forms part of Yang Huaxi’s Miao Women series, combining portrait painting with a restrained figurative approach.
